We are thrilled to announce that our second workshop on composting took place recently, this time bringing together a group of enthusiastic students from [Insert School Name]. The excitement and energy in the room were palpable as these young minds dived into the world of composting, eager to learn how they can contribute to a greener and more sustainable future for our region.

Led by our dedicated team members, Valentin Kehayov and Severin Bobachev, the workshop provided students with hands-on experience in composting techniques. From understanding what can and cannot be composted to building their own compost bins, the students were actively engaged in every step of the process.

Severin, who has recently joined our project through the internship program co-funded by Youth and Environment Europe (YEE), shared his journey of learning and growth within the project. He emphasized how composting is not just a practice but a vital skill that everyone should adopt to protect our environment.

One of the students, Maria, expressed her thoughts after the workshop:

“This workshop was so eye-opening for me! I never realized how much of our daily waste can be turned into something valuable like compost. It’s amazing to think that by just making small changes at home, we can make a big difference for our environment.”

Another student, Ivan, added:

“In our region, we are surrounded by beautiful nature, and it’s our responsibility to protect it. Learning how to compost and reduce waste is something we can all do, and it feels good to know that I’m contributing to keeping our community green.”

These reflections underscore the importance of such educational initiatives, particularly in regions like ours where preserving the natural environment is critical.

Valentin Kehayov, our project leader, took the opportunity to introduce the students to the broader goals of the “Rural Youth Empowerment: Bridging the Gap for Environmental Advocacy” project. He shared how this initiative, supported by YEE, aims to empower young people to become active advocates for the environment.

“This workshop is just the beginning,” Valentin said. “With the support of YEE, we are not only teaching valuable skills like composting but also building a network of young environmental leaders who will carry forward the torch of sustainability in our region.”

Severin, who is playing an increasingly vital role in the project, provided additional insights into how composting fits into our overall environmental strategy. He encouraged the students to share what they learned with their families and to start composting at home, turning waste into a resource that can nourish the soil and support local agriculture.

As we continue to roll out more workshops and activities under this project, we are excited to see the growing enthusiasm among young people in our community. The success of this second workshop reaffirms our belief that education and hands-on experience are key to fostering a culture of sustainability.

We look forward to more collaborations with local schools and community groups as we work together to create a greener, more sustainable future for all. Stay tuned for more updates and join us in this important journey!

Thank You, YEE!

A big thank you to Youth and Environment Europe (YEE) for making this initiative possible. With their support, we are able to reach more young people and equip them with the tools they need to make a real difference in their communities.

Let’s continue to compost, conserve, and create a brighter future for our beautiful region!
