About the Project
“Empowering Rural Communities: Youth-Led Spaces for Transformation” is a strategic partnership between:
- Społeczna Grupa Medialna (Poland) – Project Coordinator
- Young Improvers for Youth Development (YIYD) (Bulgaria) – Partner
- Asociația Troianul (Romania) – Partner
The project focuses on strengthening youth participation and improving access to cultural, educational, and social opportunities in rural and mountainous regions. Through practical exchanges, shared methodologies, and collaborative training, the partnership aims to develop sustainable, youth-led community spaces and outreach models that respond to local needs.
Objectives
- Support youth workers in developing meaningful and inclusive activities for young people in rural areas.
- Create and refine models for youth spaces that are welcoming, safe, and adaptable.
- Promote youth leadership through participation, peer learning, and co-design.
- Facilitate international cooperation and knowledge exchange across the three regions.
Activities
Throughout the project, partners will:
- Conduct international training for youth workers.
- Develop and test practical guidelines for running youth spaces.
- Collect local feedback from young people to inform program design.
- Organize dissemination events and community activities.
Role of Young Improvers for Youth Development (YIYD)
YIYD leads the development and testing of the youth space model in the Smolyan region. This includes:
- Hosting practical sessions in our youth center and through mobile outreach.
- Coordinating youth advisory participation and peer-leader involvement.
- Contributing to the creation of the final Guidebook and Toolkit for rural youth spaces.
