Young Improvers for Youth Development – YIYD in partnership with Associazione TDM 2000 and Conexão Jovem – Associação Juvenil is doing a new research aims to support the creation of youth clubs in rural areas

Introduction: A team of researchers is currently conducting a study on setting up new youth clubs in rural areas, aimed at identifying the challenges faced by young people in creating and managing such clubs. The research is part of an effort to equip young people with the tools, competences, and contacts they need to become change makers in their communities and society.

Background: Youth clubs provide an important opportunity for young people to come together, meet, discuss, and plan activities for their development and the development of their society. However, young people in rural areas often face difficulties in creating and running such clubs due to a lack of resources and support.

The research project aims to address these challenges by identifying the obstacles and difficulties young people face in setting up new youth clubs and how to create youth physical spaces to gather and run activities. The team will create a manual with guidelines on how to create a youth club, how to manage it with activities for their peers, and also how to access local funds connected to seminars and webinars at local level with young people.

Methodology: To gather data, the team is using a questionnaire that asks young people in rural areas about their experiences with setting up new youth clubs. The questionnaire covers topics such as the availability of resources, the challenges faced in creating and managing youth clubs, and the potential benefits of participating in such clubs.

Impact: The findings of the research project will inform the creation of a manual that will provide young people in rural areas with the information and resources they need to set up new youth clubs. This will empower young people to become change makers in their communities and society, and will provide valuable opportunities for personal and social development.
